Welcome to the Appalachian Council Head Start Web Site.  The Council now provides services in eleven counties for the benefit of 846 children and their families in the counties of Boone, Clay, Putnam, Jackson, Roane, and Wood, Doddridge, Calhoun, Pleasants, Wirt and Tyler. 

Head Start provides services for three and four year old children from low-income families including children with disabilities.

Head Start is administered by the Administration for Children and Families of the US Department of Health and Human Services
